Heather Von St. James, Mesothelioma Warrior, ADAO Conference Interview

Share

ADAO was honored to have so many amazing individuals come together at the 8th Annual International ADAO Asbestos Awareness Conference to discuss the impact of asbestos on public health, the environment, and the economy. We had the opportunity to interview a few guests from the conference, and we are excited to be able to share some inspiring stories from our community. Heather Von St. James, a young woman, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma seven years ago, gave an amazing interview. It is a privilege to share Heather’s video interview.

Heather Von St James is a 43-year-old wife to Cameron and mom to 7-year-old Lily Rose. Diagnosed with Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma at the age of 36, just 3 1/2 months after the birth of her one and only child, Heather is a 6 and a half-year survivor of the disease. She is a strong advocate for The International Mesothelioma Program and Dr. David Sugarbaker’s work.  She spends her spare time volunteering at her daughter’s school, being with friends and family, and living life to the fullest. Her favorite quote is, “Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.” Her goal is to bring about hope to mesothelioma patients and awareness regarding the disease.

In unity,

Linda
