Jill & the “Ridin’ with the Wind” Gang

They say “it takes a village.” Well…maybe it takes a motorcycle too!

On July 28, in Illinois, ADAO community member Jill Cagle led the “Ridin’ the Wind with Rob” event, which was a motorcycle ride, dinner, and raffle in loving memory of her husband, Rob. Tragically, Rob lost his 6-year battle with mesothelioma on September 11, 2011. All proceeds from the event went to the Robbie Cagle College Scholarship Fund, the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, and ADAO.

The event was phenomenal. About 110 people rode their motorcycles and over 250 people participated in the dinner and raffle. The event increased awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure, strengthened the mesothelioma community, and beautifully honored Rob’s life.

I want to personally thank Jill Cagle, my dear friend and a long time ADAO supporter, for the generous donation to ADAO, which contributes to our work to end asbestos-caused diseases.

As Jill says, “It sucks being in this club, but if I have to be in this club, I cannot imagine better people to be in it with!”

Together, change is possible.
