“For all meso warriors, caregivers and families: live with hope and light.”

— Esther, United Kingdom

This message was written next to one of the hundreds of online candles lit on January 4, 2013 to honor and support Mesothelioma Warriors battling cancer around the world.

On December 28 and January 4, individuals throughout the world united to remember loved ones lost to asbestos-related diseases and celebrate mesothelioma warriors who exhibit strength and courage every day.  Patients, their families, and friends from seven countries wrote messages and lit online candles which  burned brightly for 48 hours.

The 2012 Mesothelioma Warrior list increased by nearly 300 names since last year. This year, we linked the list to our “Share Your Story,” collection so that you can find out more about some of these courageous people. The 2012 Mesothelioma Warrior list is now closed, but we will continue to add names in 2013. Stay tuned for details in future newsletters.

ADAO holds eight candle lightings throughout the year. Mark April 1 on your calendar now to participate with us in the next candle lighting during Global Asbestos Awareness Week. Keep the flames of hope and courage burning brightly.

In unity,

Linda
