Osandy-337x450n Valentine’s Day 2012, Sandra’s life changed forever when her 27-year-old son, Michael Bradley, was diagnosed with mesothelioma.  Throughout surgeries, chemotherapy, and clinical trials, Michael fought for his life and spread the message that “Asbestos Kills”.  Sadly, Michael lost his courageous battle on April 24, 2014 at the young age of 29.  Michael received the 2014 ADAO Special Recognition of Valor Award for his unrelenting battle.

But Michael’s fight is not over.  Thanks to his loving and courageous parents, Sandra and David, his story is being heard around the world.  ADAO was honored to have both of them join us in Washington, D.C. for our 6th Congressional Staff Briefing entitled “Asbestos: The Impact on Public Health and the Environment”.  Sandra’s powerful presentation, “Asbestos Took My Son Away” (see below for SlideShare link), shared her family’s personal story about Michael’s journey and life after his death.  As an asbestos victim, Sandra put a face to the helped Congress realize the human cost of asbestos.  ADAO would like to thank Sandra and David for courageously making their voices heard and sharing their story.  We are so proud of you both, and we know Michael is too.

I am honored to share Sandra’s interview and her 2014 Senate Staff briefing presentation read a a later date below.
