ADAO is so thrilled to see the positive response and amazing analytics for this year’s Global Asbestos Awareness Week (Twitter: #GAAW) and ADAO’s campaign, “Hear Asbestos. Think Prevention.TM”  As a leader in prevention, our work over the past 11 years has focused on creating and sharing content during this critical week to drive awareness and increase knowledge to prevention exposure. The true power of this week comes from your collaboration and partnerships in prevention.  The more people that hear asbestos and think prevention, the more lives we can save.

We’ve seen everything from organizations retweeting important #GAAW educational information to their followers, invitations to feature ADAO guest blogs on others’ websites, and individuals repurposing information into powerful social media posts and graphics in their own voice.  In one day of GAAW, ADAO’s tweets and partner-retweets garnered 1.4 million impressions worldwide!  Whether you’re a large organization or an interested individual, you can take action and create your own version of GAAW.

Here are some fun screenshot examples of ways ADAO has seen people get involved so far.  Feel free to use these for inspiration for how you can get involved:

1) Retweet Information: NIOSH (@NIOSH)’s retweet of #Asbestos information reached an additional 309,000 followers with the #GAAW message.

Thank you to the many, many people who have gotten involved this year!  There are too many to name, but it’s a promising sign for the future.  If you want to be officially acknowledged for your contributions in our GAAW blog recap, please include your information in this Google doc.

Let’s keep up the momentum and really make this year’s global reach the biggest yet!

Together, we can make a difference.
