Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization Crowdrise Fundraiser

Posted on November 1, 2015

#GivingTuesday Campaign CANVAAt the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), we coordinate with partners and supporters in order to change the world together.  And for our many dedicated supporters and concerned citizens today who are looking for  a way to help, we would like to invite you to join ADAO in our efforts to improve the health of your community and nation. For 14 years, ADAO has been an advocate for asbestos victims worldwide, uniting our voices in demand for change and justice.  Today, were are here to answer the question: How can I help ADAO by offering a financial donation?

We’ve been hesitant to ask for donations and have never held a fundraising campaign before, because we believe in the power of  YOU Sharing Your Story, a powerful advocate platform that every victim is encouraged to participate in. But we know that uniting together extends beyond just using our voices. Together we can use our resources to continue the work involved in running the largest independent U.S. nonprofit dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure and providing a much needed global forum for education, advocacy, and community.

That’s why we’re holding our first-ever #GivingTuesday campaign. GivingTuesday – a crowdfunding platform started in 2012 – is growing in popularity. The premise is simple. We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals (Black Friday and Cyber Monday). Now, we have GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, organizations, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

Millions of dollars are raised for great causes when people come together for this national day of giving. We’ve joined the Southern California Center for Nonprofit Management’s Giving SoCal campaign to bring this nationally recognized day of charitable giving to the ADAO local community. Together we can make a huge impact.

How You Can Help

We’re looking for our amazing supporters to help us fund raise. Imagine the impact we can have if each of our supporters got their friends and family to donate to our cause. It’s never been easier to make a big difference with just a little effort.

To participate in GivingTuesday, simply click on this link.

In seconds, you’ll have your own fundraiser that you can share with everyone you know on December 1 – or whenever you want for this whole month. It’s that simple. The page will be up all of November, meaning you can start fundraising at any time, and you can always choose to give more, or simply check in to see our progress!

Every donation makes a difference, no matter how small and every contribution is appreciated. Here at ADAO, we’ll use donations to fund our education, advocacy, and community programs, including issuing scholarships to individuals who want to attend conferences but do not have the funds to do so.

Alternatively, you can easily give back by making a PayPal donation or by mailing a check to:

Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO)
1525 Aviation Boulevard, Suite 318
Redondo Beach, California 90278
And remember: All donations to ADAO are tax-deductible.

Since our inception, we have hosted 11 international conferences with more than 1,100 attendees, secured 11 Asbestos Awareness Week resolutions, held 8 Congressional staff briefings, presented to more than 20 countries, and published almost 200 stories (like yours). We have done great things – but what we have accomplished together so far is only the beginning. We’re closer than ever to influencing a ban on asbestos and ending its tragic legacy. But in order to turn this important corner, we need your help.

Thank you for joining us and believing in our mission.

Together, we make change happen.

Linda
