Miles for Meso Race United Mesothelioma Warriors in Person and Virtually from Across Globe ||| Race Raises Over $25,000 for ADAO Awareness and Education Efforts!

2015 Miles for MesoHere at the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), we are astounded at the passionate outpouring of community and advocacy seen during this Mesothelioma Awareness Month, September 2015. Thanks to your dedication and support, more than 1,000 racers, spectators, supporters, and volunteers (along with virtual support from across the globe) gathered together at the Miles for Meso starting line.  This year, Miles for Meso raised over $25,000 to support ADAO asbestos awareness, education, and community support campaigns!

Your powerful Share Your Story testimonials represent the biggest collection of personal stories (with more than 175) from around the world. This is monumentally important to our ability to influence change with our political leaders, and demonstrate that the dangers of asbestos are real, with real people who have been affected on so many levels. The graphics that go with these stories are equally powerful and together fueled our ability to create a one of a kind Mesothelioma Warrior Memorial Video that paints a portrait of Mesothelioma Warriors from around the world. As the dedications on the racer’s bibs showed this year, these warriors are real. With your continued participation in these kind of activities that help us put a name and a face to asbestos injustice, we can continue to move mountains.

Lastly, if you would like to thank any of the racers or volunteers, please post your public comment on the Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual Runner Gratitude Page.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to our entire ADAO community for making Miles for Meso a roaring success. We are fiercely reminded that it is much more than a race; it is a social movement for truth and justice. Likewise, Mesothelioma Awareness Day is much more than a date on a calendar; it is ADAO’s daily mantra to end the heartbreaking after effects of asbestos exposure which includes mesothelioma and other deadly diseases.
