DupressWe have been touched by asbestos in individual ways, yet we are joined together by a bond of community. As a testament to the strength of our global family, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is highlighting the courageous stories of our members with the “Share Your Story” feature on our website.

This week, we would like to honor the story of Terran, as shared by her father Terrance, who is a part of our ADAO family.

We encourage you to submit your personal stories by clicking here and following the simple instructions on the page. In sharing, comes healing. Remember, you are not alone.

How has asbestos changed your life? Shared by her father, Terrance (unedited)

Mesothelioma has changed our lives. Being parents you would have never thought of your child having this type of cancer.
My daughter is a very rare case. Being diagnosed at 14 years old, having been through two types of chemo, having a 12 hour surgery to remove the mass from her mid-section has been a trial. But she has proven to us and to herself that her faith and her desire to live and to do well has kept her going this far. She is now 16 years old, in school as a thriving Junior.
Everything we did before had to change to take care of our daughter. She is a blessing to us and she will beat this awful cancer.
