Doug Larkin VIDEO

Back in 2004, I met an amazing man who changed my life. We were both feeling the terrible personal impacts of asbestos disease in our families and we both wanted to make a change. After he chastised me for the way I was going about trying to get meetings on Capitol Hill – literally walking down the halls waving a picture of my husband! – he and I became fast friends. He too was angry as his beloved father-in-law was also very sick. We decided we could and would make a difference. We turned our anger into action. And in doing so we co-founded the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) dedicated to education, advocacy, and community support.

Doug’s tireless work has allowed ADAO to exceed our mission and vision. His years of wisdom, professional experience, passion, and love for Bill, his father-in-law, helped make ADAO what it is today.

We have never walked alone on the road to turning ADAO into the largest independent nonprofit dedicated to preventing asbestos-caused diseases through education, advocacy, and community. Our success is because of the hard work of our amazing community.

Doug, you are loved around the world.  Thank you for your unyielding support to enable ADAO to achieve all it has, and continues to achieve, to help prevent asbestos exposure and someday – to eliminate all asbestos-caused diseases.

Linda
