Quincy Jones' Special CANVA (2)Quincy Jones, a comedian diagnosed with mesothelioma is chasing his dreams.

Since his diagnosis, he has been defying all odds to make this dream of hosting a one hour special come true and prove cancer doesn’t define us.

Quincy’s February Kickstarter campaign led to an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show, which landed him this HBO comedy special “Burning the Light.”

Motivated to raise asbestos and mesothelioma awareness, the 32-year old did not stop. The Kickstarter campaign exceeded his initial goal of $5,000 and it raised over $50,000!

This year during Global Asbestos Awareness Week, ADAO dedicated Day Three to Quincy Jones, Mesothelioma Patient and Comedian, Raises Asbestos.  Quincy’s talent runs deep, but so does his honesty as he shared the “ability to hopefully inspire people to dig a little deeper and fight a little harder.” While he is still undergoing chemotherapy, Quincy said “you just gotta tighten up, you gotta pull it together, compose yourself, one day at a time.”

There is nothing funny about asbestos cancer or mesothelioma, but you howl when you watch Quincy perform. “Preventing Cancer Through Laughter, Awareness, and Grassroots Action” is a fabulous thing!

Support Quincy, share this blog, and tune in to HBO on Thursday, June 2 at 10 pm ET and 7 pm PT.
