The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization Announces Its 13th Annual International Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference

The 2017 Conference Continues the Trend as the Only Conference Dedicated Solely to Preventing Asbestos Exposure and Ending Asbestos-Caused Diseases

conference-activities-canvaWASHINGTON, DC – The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), which serves as a global leader in ending asbestos exposure through education, advocacy, and community; today announced its 13th Annual International Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, “Where Knowledge and Action Unite,” April 7-9, 2017 in Washington, D.C.

This year’s conference features nearly 40 doctors, scientist, experts and victims; and is the only annual asbestos conference dedicated solely to preventing exposure and eliminating asbestos-caused diseases. Attendees have a unique opportunity to connect with the leaders and influencers in the asbestos prevention community, as well as victims and family members sharing in the fight against asbestos, turning anger into action.

The 2017 event includes a wide range of well-known speakers and advocates, including keynote presenters David McCumber, award-winning author; and Jordan Zevon, musician and ADAO National Spokesperson.

“Now, like never before, the ADAO conference is of upmost importance to protect the public health and the environment,” stated ADAO President and Co-Founder, Linda Reinstein. “Building on our successful endeavors over the past 13 years, including the most recent inclusion of asbestos on the EPA’s top ten list of high-risk chemicals, this conference is an important reminder of the power of knowledge and unity in action. We welcome our attendees from across the globe who share an important goal: to end asbestos exposure once, and, for all.”

As attendees from last year’s conference expressed, this annual event is a highly sought after opportunity to share resources, intelligence, and most importantly – hope.

“The conference was wonderful,” stated Paul Brodeur, award winning author. “What I liked best were the interesting, caring, and highly motivated people I met.”

“ADAO’s conference brings together all of the perspectives regarding the issue of asbestos-science, public policy, and the impact on families.” explained Dr. Arthur Frank, ADAO Science Advisory Board Co-Chair.

According to mesothelioma patient and asbestos awareness advocate, Lou Williams, “The ADAO conference raises awareness and prevention knowledge. Asbestos destroys innocent lives. We need to unite and eradicate asbestos from our world.”

Starting with a festive group Dinner Cruise down the Potomac, the weekend will also feature an awards gala on Saturday night, and a Unity and Remembrance Brunch on Sunday. As an added bonus, the 2017 conference will also include an Art-Driven Advocacy theme, featuring performances from well-known musicians, comedians, filmmakers and more.

Registration is open and can be accessed here.
