Enough!
The bottom line is simple: Asbestos causes deadly cancers and other diseases, including incurable mesothelioma, and kills an estimated 15,000 people in the US every year — yet companies still continue to import and use it, knowingly sickening innocent Americans.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is now embarking on a review and regulation process that is slated to take up to five years. During that time, tens of thousands will continue to face deadly exposures.
But there’s a way we can ban this known killer even faster: The EPA has the option of enacting a ban NOW, utilizing existing research (of which there is a ton) as supportive evidence.
The EPA has put decades worth of time and dollars into research asbestos — they have all the data they need to ban this killer completely — without any loopholes or exemptions that allow greedy corporations to keep using it.
