The ADAO leadership team works throughout the year to bring you the best imaginable annual conference each spring, but this year we’ve outdone ourselves, if I do say so myself! There are so many reasons why ADAO’s 14th Annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference is a must-go — here are a few:

1. Celebrating a Hard-Earned Victory

It’s always exciting to convene in Washington, D.C., the mecca of democratic change, but this year we’ll be there with huge reason to celebrate. With the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act of 2017 recently introduced in the United States Senate, we are finally on a direct path to the ban we’ve spent years fighting for.

During this year’s conference, will we have a chance to celebrate our historic victory in unity, but we will also take the opportunity to start strategically planning what comes next for ADAO. Remember a ban is just the first step — we’ve still got a lot of work to do!

2.  Community Building during the Friday Newseum Tour and Dinner

As a special treat this year, in light of our victory and how hard we all worked for it, the ADAO family will enjoy a private tour of the Newseum! This unbeatable Friday afternoon outing will kick off our conference weekend with a tone of fun and togetherness, and it will spark though and conversation on the 1st Amendment and the value of a free press. In addition to seeing the world-renowned exhibits the Newseum has to offer, this is also a fabulous chance to mingle and share knowledge with leading global experts before spending the weekend in academic sessions with them. The Newseum is one of my favorite museums in the world — I guarantee you’ll be wowed!

3. Join the Experts

One of the reasons Team ADAO has become such a powerhouse is thanks to the incredible physicians, scientists, union leaders, and public health professionals in our ranks. Our annual conference brings all of these global leaders together, and YOU have the chance to join them!

ADAO conference attendees not only hear the latest and most cutting-edge updates from global experts, our dynamic conference programming also allows for mingling and connecting with these leaders and fellow community members. The Friday group activity, Saturday cocktail hour and awards gala, and Sunday brunch are all fabulous opportunities to meet people and expand your ADAO family.

You’ll find details about all of these exciting plans and more on our BRAND NEW conference website, which is coming soon. Keep an eye out for our January launch of the new site, and be sure to take a tour — we added lots of special bells and whistles there, too.

I am beyond excited to see you all in April for our best conference yet!

In unity,

Linda
