The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is proud to sponsor the second march against the reopening of a notorious Haverlock asbestos mine in Swaziland.

Building on the momentum from their successful June march, the Zimbabwe Asbestos Disease Awareness Foundation (ZADAF) will hold another protest march to the Swaziland Embassy in Johannesburg, South Africa against the proposed opening of the Havelock Asbestos mine in Swaziland.

UK-based activist and leader of ZADAF, David Muchingami, says the march’s goals are to prevent the mine from reopening, to discourage people from seeking employment if and when it does open, and to spread awareness around asbestos safety and prevention.  David knows the pain of asbestos exposure and disease, as his uncles worked at Shabanie Asbestos mines. David will speak at the event, along with other distinguished speakers, Pastor Kelvin Zivavose and Dr. M. Khumalo.

ADAO applauds the courage of ZADAF and all of those advocating against the opening of the mine. Your fight is our fight.

Together, change is possible – in Swaziland, the U.S., and across the globe.

In unity,

Linda
