The 14th International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig) Conference will be held on May 2–5, 2018 at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Canada.

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is delighted to join delegates from around the world at the 14th International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMiG) Conference in Ottawa, Canada. For the past twelve years, ADAO has been attending, presenting, and exhibiting at iMig conferences in Birmingham (UK), Cape Town (South Africa), Boston (USA), Kyoto (Japan), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Chicago (USA).

Every two years, the iMig conference brings together experts dedicated to treating and curing mesothelioma, featuring groundbreaking workshops, presentations and discussions, and strengthening collaborative efforts making this conference the largest international gathering of clinicians and scientists in the field of mesothelioma. At the last conference, iMig brought together nearly 300 scientists, clinicians, and patient advocates from around the world with nearly 350 platform and poster presentations.

Building on the success of preceding iMig conferences in Birmingham, this year’s conference will bring together over 500 delegates from around the world and feature a highly interactive, stimulating and multidisciplinary program including workshops, plenary sessions as well as oral abstract and poster sessions. The conference will provide the ideal forum to stimulate ideas and establish collaborations as well as to initiate impactful discussions about mesothelioma.

I look forward to presenting “Mesothelioma Advocacy in the 21st Century” on Friday, May 4th from 1:45- 15:15 pm during Mini Symposium 11- Advocacy and Screening, where I will speak of the important facts from two surveys based on patient advocacy and the power of strategic grassroots storytelling, and art based advocacy strategies. My presentation will be in Confederation I – level 4.

Together, we make change happen.
