Get Out To Vote!

As most of you know, midterm elections are coming up in just a short few weeks. This midterm election is one of the most important elections to date and we need your help. Asbestos is a known carcinogen that remains legal and lethal in the United States today. It can be found in schools, workplaces, homes, and buildings. It has also been found in kids toys such as Playskool crayons, and Claire’s makeup products.

Asbestos is a non partisan issue, and this carcinogen imperils human life, no matter that human’s stance is on the issues we face today. It is an equal opportunity killer, and no amount of allegiance to conservatism, progressivism, or even entirely independent political thought will change that fact.

Did you know that all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested on November 6th AND that millennials have more voting power than any other generation this year? We need millennials to vote — last midterm election only 1 in 5 voted.

Asbestos claims the lives of nearly 40,000 Americans each year. However, our country still allows the importation and use of this lethal substance that continues to sicken families across the states, and leave shattered families behind.

We encourage you to use your voice, and hold candidates and incumbents accountable for this man-made disaster.

There are three simple ways you can do this:

  1. Register to vote OR confirm you ARE registered
  2. Show up to your local town hall meetings and ask one simple question: “The EPA could ban asbestos now, but won’t. What will you do to stop asbestos imports and use in our state and nation?” Use this link to find your local town hall meetings.
  3. Vote! On November 6th, vote for the candidate most likely to fight for a ban asbestos. Currently, we have several house and senate members supporting the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act. Check here to see if your lawmaker is a supporter.

The time to ban asbestos is NOW. We must save human lives, and keep families together. Get out and VOTE! Help us ban this lethal carcinogen.

Together, we will make change happen.
