bRUCE aLLENI wrote the resolution which is going to the 2011 Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Convention in order to raise the profile of A Walk to Remember Asbestos Victims and generate more participation in it. This should move the struggle forward to end the human carnage caused by exposure to asbestos particularly in the workplace. Should the resolution reach the floor of the 2011 OFL Convention to be debated and voted on it it could capture the imagination of the approximately one thousand trade union leaders and activists who will be in attendance as delegates, observers and guests. Should the resolution be passed A Walk to Remember Asbestos Victims stands to gain the backing of a labour central representing a million workers and directly benefit from the resources at its disposal. A Walk to Remember Asbestos Victims would then certainly become a much more powerful event than it already is and become embedded in the consciousness of the general public on a very broad scale. This would be a fitting tribute to those who we have tragically lost due to exposure to asbestos.
