Please join the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) at our 5th Annual Asbestos Awareness Day (AAD)Conference from March 27 - 29, 2009.  Expert speakers from the United States, England, South Africa, India, and Germany will present up-to-date information on the prevention, detection and treatment of asbestos-related diseases.
 
This conference is made possible with the support and collaborative efforts of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat (IBAS).  Our mission is to provide the most advanced medical, occupational and environmental information available about asbestos related disease to individuals throughout the world.  Presentations will include preventing exposure, identifying occupational and non-occupational exposure, public health and environmental aspects, early warning symptoms and trauma.

ADAO Asbestos Awareness Day Honorees
 
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, will be presented with the Tribute of Hope Award for her steadfast commitment and determination to ban asbestos.

Margaret Seminario, AFL/CIO will receive the Tribute of Unity Award for the union's global work to unite, educate and empower asbestos victims and workers. 
  
Dr. Stephen Levin, will be recognized with the Dr. Irving Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of his dedicated research into the social and medical impact asbestos has had on humankind.

Pralhad Malvadkar and Raghunath Manwar will be presented with the Tribute of Inspiration Award for being a bridge of hope and strength to victims of asbestos exposure in India and worldwide.
