Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP) is hosting its first Fundraising Industry Event on January 26, 2013, themed Casino Royale! As an organisation, we support industry-related charitable organisations. This year, DAST (Derbyshire Asbestos Support Team) is our chosen charity, and 10% of our annual surplus goes to the charity. However, there is an increasing need to raise more funds to finance community resources provided by DAST to support patients and families impacted by asbestos exposure.

Our aim is to entertain up to 200 people, including IATP Members, Union representation, representatives of related asbestos industry sectors, patients and carers, and representation from other partner organisations, such as ADAO.

The evening will include a live and silent auction of items generously donated by IATP Members and, importantly, our first Annual Award Ceremony. The award recipients are as follows:

The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to Ms Jean Prentice (McCrone Scientifics)

The Industry Innovation Award is awarded to Mr Graham Gwilliam (Asbestostrip Innovations UK Ltd)

The Making A Difference Award is awarded to Mr Michael Lees (Asbestos in Schools AiS)

The Outstanding Contribution to Reducing Risks of Asbestos Exposure Award is awarded to Mr Bill Sanderson

The Global Impact Award is awarded to Ms Linda Reinstein, (co-founder and president of ADAO)

Our final award is in a very special category: the IATP Meso Warrior Award. In recognition of the Meso Warrior Global Community, this very special award goes to Mrs Mavis Nye.

All of the awards are generously sponsored by IATP Members.

There will also be scheduled working groups/meetings during the two days that surround the event, which will provide opportunities for organisations and individuals to network, collaborate, share ideas, and innovate. For more information, please visit http://www.iatp.org.uk/events.php
