It’s wonderful when one tweet turns into collaboration! Through collaborative action, we can support each other and raise awareness.
ADAO was honored to write a guest blog for the Safety and Health Practitioner (SHP) in support of the UK Health and Safety Week from June 16 – 20, 2014. The goal of the week aims to “inspire excellence in health & safety” by sharing news, stories, case studies, and guest blogs by experts featuring important health and safety facts for the public.
In my guest blog, “Asbestos: Prevention Remains the Only Cure”, I shared the human side of the asbestos that countless patients and families have and continue to endure. As I mentioned, from 2011 – 2012, mesothelioma deaths accounted for nearly 20% of all United Kingdom occupational lung disease and cancer deaths and more than 10,000 Americans die every year from asbestos-caused diseases. In light of these alarming facts, ADAO remains committed to building a “culture of prevention” using global partnerships and social media advocacy to unite knowledge and action.
Join the global Twitter conversation at @HSafetyWeek. As we know, “together, change is possible.”
