Paul Zygielbaum DedicationOur 8th Congressional Staff Briefing on July 15, “Asbestos: Impact on Consumer Safety, Public Health, and Asbestos Victims’ Civil Rights,” was dedicated to Paul Zygielbaum, an amazing Mesothelioma Warrior, tireless ban asbestos advocate, and the 2007 ADAO Product Testing visionary and manager.

As Paul said,

I have been through many horrific medical procedures, like so many other patients. Sometimes I have flashbacks, especially when I visit someone in a hospital or go through a medical treatment or test – even if it’s unrelated to mesothelioma. I face periodic medical scans every few months with uncertainty, awaiting the inevitable recurrence of disease. My illness has affected my entire family and my outlook on life. I savor every moment with my friends and loved ones, and every opportunity to do something good in the world. I work to stay educated on the disease and positive in my attitude. My wife and I remain active in advocacy to stop asbestos poisoning, to improve medical treatments, and to protect the rights of patients and victims’ families.  This life has chosen me, and there is no going back.

Paul has personally battled mesothelioma for almost 2 decades, yet still selflessly advocates for a ban on asbestos and to protect asbestos victims’ civil rights. Paul’s work has been instrumental in so many ways. As just one example, through Paul’s work, ADAO has confirmed asbestos in five consumer products, including a toy.

In response to this dedication, ADAO’s network of patients, victims, experts, and advocates sent more messages of support for Paul than we could accommodate!  Here is just one touching quote from his son, Josh:

“Paul Zygielbaum is a dedicated mesothelioma warrior who has spent over 10 years fighting to create awareness of asbestos related diseases and to create a full ban on asbestos in the United States and around the world. The Zygielbaum family is honored to have ADAO’s 8th Annual Congressional Briefing dedicated to him.”

Paul, thank you for holding the light of hope and action in the USA and around the world!
