Everyone can participate in the Miles for Meso Race on National Mesothelioma Awareness Day – in person or virtually.
The 2015 Miles for Meso 5K Race and 2K Fun Run/Walk is coming up on Saturday, September 26th in Alton, Illinois! This event is an amazing opportunity to raise awareness on National Mesothelioma Awareness Day and fuel ADAO’s asbestos awareness month of action. The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is honored to be once again named the beneficiary of the 2015 race, an initiative of the Simmons Mesothelioma Foundation.
This year ADAO is represented through the Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual Team and with our star runner and ban-asbestos advocate Heather Von St. James! Heather will be running in the race September 26th to raise awareness and magnify the voice of the victims. Please support her in this honorable journey by joining the online conversation using the hashtag #mfm5k.
“Last year, the Alton Miles for Meso race raised a record-breaking $30,000 for ADAO,” said Todd Adamitis, chief operating officer of Simmons Hanly Conroy. “We are excited to again support this great charity that does so much to help victims of asbestos-related diseases, including many of our clients.”
You can also join the race yourself! To be part of the ADAO Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual Team either register as an in person runner (register here.) or as a virtual runner (register here.). All runner’s both in person and virtual will receive a race t-shirt! If you would still like to donate to the cause you may also donate without signing up as a runner. Special thanks to the 2015 ADAO Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual Team Captains: Herman, Lou, Ann, Heather, Sandra, Courtney, Mike, Jessica, and Jennifer for coordinating efforts around the world.
Thank you in advance to the participants who, by running this race, lend their support and encouragement to courageous mesothelioma patients across the country and around the world! Special thanks to Jordan Zevon, Heather Von St. James, and the Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual Team, there are numerous ways you can support Miles for Meso.
