EVENT DETAILS

The title of this short documentary says so much in one word, Breathtaking! It began as a personal tribute to Kathleen Mullen’s father who died of asbestos caused mesothelioma. As a film producer and daughter she tells this incredibly powerful story. Kathleen investigates the Canadian asbestos industry, and finds Canada is manufacturing asbestos product, then exports it to third world countries such as India. Workers in India are much more vulnerable and unprotected from the wrath and deadly suffering asbestos brings. It is estimated India only has the resources to staff approximately 1,400 safety officers, for well over 26 million workers. Kathleen travels to India and discovers that her grief is the grief of so many, a grief of absolute injustice. My family knows that injustice all too well, my Dad died just like Kathleen Mullen’s father did of mesothelioma. I volunteer for ADAO with the purpose, that through education, other families will not know this injustice and horrible suffering. I promise, this film will bring you closer to the truth, raise your consciousness, and cause you to question the intent of the Canadian government. This glaring injustice will indeed….take your breath away…. For screening details – visit www.AsbestosDiseaseAwareness.org/film
