ADAO is honored to be presenting at Less Cancer’s National Cancer Prevention Day on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017. I’m so thrilled to be joining global leaders in public health and medicine at this national day of awareness is designed to highlight efforts to end cancer through prevention. As we at ADAO know all too well, while promising research continues, prevention remains the only cure for asbestos caused cancers.
This is a great day for sharing your feelings and stories with us and throughout your social networks, especially since our network fuels efforts to raise awareness to prevent exposure. Join the conversation on social media by using the hashtags #lesscancer #cancermoonshot.
In addition to the February 2 conference, I will also be representing ADAO at a meeting of the Congressional Cancer Prevention Caucus on February 1, organized by Less Cancer Founder Bill Couzens. The caucus, chaired by Reps. Debbie Dingell and Tim Murphy, was formed in 2015 with the goal of “providing a bipartisan forum to engage Members of Congress, their staff, the medical community, advocacy groups, academia and the public on lifestyle and environmental factors that can reduce cancer risk.” As we transition to a new administration and Congress, I look forward to convening about prevention-based policy work.
I look forward to sharing the news and updates I gather at these meetings soon! Together we can end asbestos-caused cancers.
In unity,
Linda Reinstein
