In honor of the longstanding Mesothelioma Warrior Candle Lighting tradition, we will light candles on December 28, 2016 in loving memory of those who have lost their mesothelioma battle, and again on January 4, 2017 in honor and support of Warriors courageously battling mesothelioma.
The candle lighting ceremonies inspire special remembrance of Mesothelioma Warrior, Jill Vaughn, who started this lovely tradition. Jill tragically lost her courageous battle with mesothelioma several years ago, but she is remembered for being a rock of strength and beacon of hope for patients and families around the world. We are honored to keep Jill’s memory and love for community alive through this tradition of honor and remembrance.
“When I started the candle lighting in 2000, I never dreamed it would go on this long. Thanks to ADAO, I can dream that it will go on forever! Linda and Julie have really made it something special and the site is so amazing. I could never have kept up with all the names. Many blessings for your future work.” — Jill Vaughn
Any names submitted after December 15 will be added to the 2017 Global Asbestos Awareness Week candle lighting list. If you have previously submitted your loved one’s name, there’s no need to do so again.
May the flames of hope, courage, and community continue to burn brightly in our hearts forever.
In unity and hope,
The ADAO Mesothelioma Warrior Candle Lighting Team
