ADAO Letter to: Governors Cuomo, Christie, and Malloy

Post your 6 word quote on Facebook

“We need Congress’s help on Sandy relief,” write Governors Cuomo, Christie, and Malloy in the December 13 Washington Post. ADAO adds our members’ voices to this plea as we continue our “Hurricane Sandy: How to Protect Yourself from Toxic Asbestos Debris” campaign.

Since Sandy hit, ADAO has been urging the federal and local government to fund toxic debris removal, training, and health and safety materials that tri-state residents desperately need.

Now we are adding your voices, your individual stories, to those of the Governors with our six-word quote campaign. View the photo-quotes to read the overpowering words that have already been sent to us.

As the Governors’ editorial stated, “Hurricane Sandy dealt our region a once-unthinkable blow. The numbers are painful: hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses damaged or destroyed, thousands still left homeless or displaced, tens of billions of dollars in economic loss, the nation’s largest transit system crippled, and hundreds of miles of coastline ravaged. More than 17.5 million Americans were directly affected by the storm.”

What do you want to tell Congress in your Hurricane Sandy six-word quote? ADAO’s unified voice is the strongest tool we have to fight against asbestos. We are proud to be part of a community that cares about each other. Help others understand that relief efforts — both donations and time — are still needed. Show your support by joining the Hurricane Sandy Facebook conversation online today.  All posts will be shared publicly and with the Governors.

In unity,

Linda
