My presentation will examine 21st century national and international public health campaigns, their strategic storytelling, and the data shared to protect public health.  Highlighting health and safety campaigns in the USA, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey, this session will enlighten attendees on new awareness and risk management trends in civil society, the private sector, and government. Using organizational experience, ADAO will also discuss cost-effective media strategies for coordinating successful educational, advocacy, and community public health campaigns that centralize educational information and resources, transition from one-sided messaging to public interaction, and empower workers and businesses to increase safety and compliance.

This year’s theme , Health in All Policies, is very important to ADAO.  As APHA describes, “The environments in which people live, work, learn and play have a tremendous impact on their health. Responsibility for the social determinants of health falls to many nontraditional health partners, such as housing, transportation, education, air quality, parks, criminal justice, energy, and employment agencies. Public health agencies and organizations will need to work with those who are best positioned to create policies (legal and regulatory) and practices that promote healthy communities and environments and secure the many co-benefits that can be attained through healthy public policy.”
