Warm up those typing fingers and get ready to start chatting!

This September, in preparation for Mesothelioma Awareness Day on September 26, 2016,  the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is putting our social media advocacy into high gear!

On September 12, from 12-1 PM ET, ADAO will be hosting our first #ENDMeso Twitter Chat of the month, where victims, experts, advocates, and concerned citizens can connect, share, and spread asbestos awareness. During this hour-long Twitter Chat, ADAO will tweet a series of questions about asbestos awareness and personal experiences with mesothelioma, sparking a global conversation about the dangers of asbestos.

Here are the questions we’ll be tweeting out to guide the discussion:

  • Q1 How has asbestos and/or mesothelioma impacted your life?
  • Q2 Where do you find strength?
  • Q3  Do you have a story or photo to share for ADAO’s Senate Staff Briefing tomorrow?
  • Q4 What’s your message to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) about banning asbestos?
  • Q5 What should the public know about asbestos?

ADAO needs you, the voice of the victims and concerned citizens, to join in this conversation and bring asbestos awareness to light! Currently in the United States, we are witnessing one of the most crucial moments in toxic chemical reform, and it is the closest we have been to an asbestos ban since 1989. Let’s capitalize on this momentum and build support to end the man-made disaster that is asbestos!

Huge thanks to ADAO superstars Heather Von St. James, Mavis Nye, and Lou Williams, who are guest moderating the September 12 Twitter Chat, and to David Cant, Founder/Director of life at Veritas Consulting, who will be compiling the Twitter Chat discussion into a Storify. Join in by tweeting your answers to ADAO’s provided questions and responding to other participants. Be sure to use the hashtag #ENDMeso and connect with ADAO on Twitter by following @Linda_ADAO, @grandmamavis, @mesothelioma53, and @HeatherVSJ!

See below for more details on how to participate in the Twitter Chats.

Together, change is possible.
