Asbestos: The Killer You Can’t See”
“Asbesto: El asesino que no puede”
“Асбест: убийца, которого вы не видите
“एस्बेस्टोस: द किलर आप देख नहीं सकते”
“Amianto: O assassino que você não pode”
“L’amiante: le tueur que vous ne voyez pas”

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization is honored to have joined forces with Chocolate Moose Media to receive a Silver Remi Award for our collaborative efforts with artist and activist Firdaus Kharas. Firdaus’s media company, Chocolate Moose Media, will add four additional awards to their portfolio.

During the 2018 Global Asbestos Awareness Week in April, ADAO worked with Firdaus Kharas to feature a Public Service Announcement video, which captures the tragic reality about deadly asbestos. In an expansive distribution, the 30-second animated clip, “Asbestos Kills,” was translated into six languages.

Asbestos is a known carcinogen and there is no safe level of exposure. Since the 19th century, asbestos was widely used in construction, shipbuilding, and the automotive industry. Without a ban, asbestos remains legal and lethal in the USA and nearly 70% of the world today. As such, it continues to kill more than 200,000 people globally each year, which — infuriatingly — could have been 100% prevented.

Firdaus shared, “We keep hearing what a positive effect these videos are having in the targeted areas. I am so proud to be recognized for some of our best work ever.”

We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Firdaus and get the message across that asbestos is legal and lethal, and for every life lost, a shattered family is left behind. The time to ban asbestos is NOW!

Together, we can make change happen.
