ADAO Press Release: “Renowned Asbestos Awareness Expert ADAO Continues Educational Outreach”

ADAO is delighted to be attending and presenting at the American Public Health Association (APHA)’s 139th Annual Meeting and Exposition October 29 – November 2, 2011 in Washington, DC and is especially pleased this year to see the significant emphasis the organization is putting on social media. The meeting will bring together thousands of national and international physicians, administrators, nurses, educators, researchers, epidemiologists, and related health specialists to address current and emerging health science, policy, and practice issues with the goal of preventing diseases and promoting health. This year, APHA has seven social media sessions focused on the importance of social media and technology in public health. Today’s digital technology has dramatically improved avenues for the distribution of information to the masses, and these tools are critical to share with the world’s most influential players in public health.

ADAO has seen the power of social media in its efforts to promote education, advocacy, and community support initiatives. I am proud to join APHA in Washington, D.C. and present on October 31 at the “Social Media for Occupational and Environmental Health” (Session 3257.0)” from 12:30 – 2:00 “Maximizing Community Building: Leveraging an Integrative Social Media Strategy to Increase Worker Health and Safety.”

ADAO salutes the APHA for their leadership, innovation, and commitment to protecting public health. Join us and get connected via APHA’s social networks!
