Larry Davis, a mesothelioma patient, was recently recognized at the 8th Annual Asbestos Awareness Conference with The Alan Reinstein Award for his commitment to advocacy and his support to countless patients and families. Larry missed the event, but fortunately his brother, Dr. David Davis, was able to accept the award, and we were able to film Dr. Davis’ acceptance speech. Over 100 people from 9 countries acknowledged Larry’s hard work and applauded his efforts. The crowd really came together for this great man, and we are truly excited to post the video.

Larry embodies the essence of General Patton’s quote, “lead me, follow me, or get out of my way.” He takes no prisoners and has vigorously worked above and beyond to help fight the battle against asbestos. Larry is a true hero, and we invite everyone to join ADAO in congratulating him. As an avid runner, Larry recently participated in the Boston Marathon with his wonderful wife. Unfortunately, Larry could not run, but we all know it is not about the medal at the end of the race, it’s about the journey. Earlier this year, Larry put together the South Florida Miles for Meso Symposium, where friends, physicians, and advocates, including ADAO, gathered to help spread awareness on the harmful effects of asbestos exposure. Larry has taken the fight against mesothelioma to the streets, and he has made a difference in so many lives.
In Unity,

Linda
