Mavis Nye Photo I was watching, through USTREAM, the ADAO conference, to receive the 2013 Alan Reinstein Award presented to me by Linda Reinstein. As I was unable to fly and then my husband Ray had 3 heart attacks, I was pleased I had already videoed my acceptacne speech in January at the IATP 007 venue.

We listened to the speakers and were very impressed as they told us of their lives, their work and what they were achieving for the future.

Karen Banton gave a very emotional speech of her life with Bernie and now Rod.

Celeste Monforton’s video played after Dr. David Michaels presented her with the Dr. Irving Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award was also emotional.

But the one that really got to me was Lou Williams as she is a Meso Warrior and so I hung on her every word. She has traveled with the illness for so long and yet has so much time for other sufferers in Australia and plays a big part in the Bernie Banton Foundation alongside Karen and Rod.

I wish her all the luck as she goes home and back into treatment. So the conference came to an end and Linda has worked so tirelessly for the Awareness of Asbestos and what the misery it causes with the disease of mesothelioma.
