ADAO NEEDS YOUR HELP — NO to Toxic Chemicals and NO to the “Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act” (S. 697).
ACTION ALERT: KEEP CALLING! Great job! With your help, we have kept 80 senators OFF Senators Vitter – Udall – Inhofe’s “Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act” – This bill won’t ban asbestos or ensure the EPA can expeditiously regulate the 84,000 chemicals in our homes, communities, the environment, or commerce http://bit.ly/1CMpJR5
Keep the pressure on. Thanks to you – we have kept 80 Senators OFF this bill!
If you’ve lost a loved one, are suffering, or know anyone who has been irreversibly affected by an asbestos caused disease – now is your chance to affect real change and take a huge leap toward banning asbestos in the United States! It is your responsibility and your right to fight to protect your right to health and safety for yourself and your loved ones – even if you have never called before, NOW IS THE TIME.
It’s taken nearly forty years to reform the The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) of 1976. Legislation that will once and for all empower and ensure the EPA to expeditiously ban asbestos and manage the risk of most hazardous 1,000 dangerous chemicals.
ADAO opposes Senators Vitter – Udall – Inhofe “Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act” (S. 697). In fact, the Vitter – Udall – Inhofe bill doesn’t even mention “asbestos” and would take more than a century to analyze dangerous chemicals. Clearly, the Vitter – Udall – Inhofe was not written to protect public health.
Here’s what you can do:
1) CALL your Senator on Monday 3/16 and Tuesday 3/17.
Click here to find your Senators’ office phone numbers by typing your home zip code into the box up on the right.
2) Ask them to say NO to Toxic Chemicals and NO to the “Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act” (S. 697).
Just follow this script:
Hi,
My name is XX and I live in your state.
I’m calling to ask that Senator XX oppose “Frank R Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act” (S. 697). This bill is worse than current law, doesn’t even mention “asbestos,” nor does it provide for expedited action to ensue the EPA protect Americans from more than 80,000 chemicals in commerce.
Thank you.
