ADAO is looking forward to our 12th Annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, “Where Knowledge and Action Unite,” April 8 – 10, 2016 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Washington, DC.
Join our conference to:
- Learn from legendary leaders and experts, such as:
- Paul Brodeur and Clarence Borel’s descendants about the landmark asbestos case, Borel v Fiberboard
- Hear asbestos victims share their stories
- Learn more about medical advances to help asbestos patients
- Hear from experts all around the world and learn about their battles to end asbestos
ADAO serves as a community for anyone affected by asbestos. Our annual conference can help educate victims and patients of asbestos-related diseases. Below are a few of the wonderful things attendees have said about our conference:
Robin Tucker, a member of our ADAO community who lost her father to Mesothelioma, said, “I feel comforted attending the ADAO annual conferences. It is so important to understand the damaging affects of asbestos. It has really helped me get past my father’s death. It’s also so nice to unite with other victims and to know that my family and I are not alone in our battle.”
“The only International Conference on Asbestos you’ll attend this year with such a far reaching inclusion of not only expert speakers from around the world but also attendees affected.” – Herman Hamilton, ADAO Executive Assistant
“The ADAO Conference is essential for all who want to understand the latest medical advances in treatment of asbestos-related diseases, obtain tools to recognize the corrupt science promoted by the purveyors of asbestos, and to understand how all asbestos-related diseases can be prevented.” Richard A. Lemen, Assistant Surgeon General of the U.S. (retired) and Co-Chair ADAO Science Advisory Board
Dr. Arthur Frank, Professor and Chair Emeritus of the Dept. of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Drexel University School of Public Health and Co-Chair ADAO Science Advisory Board says, “coming to the ADAO annual meeting means one can learn the latest about asbestos issues and how to continue to move forward.”
Tony Rich, an Industrial Hygienist and Environmental Technician and Co-Chair of ADAO’s Prevention Advisory Board said, “Anyone who works in buildings and infrastructure, from homes to high-rise, and everywhere in between, this conference is for you.”
Paul Zygielbaum, “Anyone interested in learning about the continuing hazards posed by asbestos, advancements in disease treatement, and advocacy efforts toward banning asbestos use worldwide. Hear encouraging first-hand experience of mesothelioma patients with new immunotherapy treatment and about other medical progress.”
We are looking to expand our attendance, and we need your help! Please reach out to any individuals or groups who could benefit from our conference. Specifically, we are looking to reach out to these three groups:
- Medical Community
- Health and Safety
- Victims and Patients of Asbestos-Related Diseases
The medical community helps share new advances in medicine and technology that helps asbestos victims. Since asbestos-related diseases are very aggressive, the more knowledge we can share about these diseases, the better informed patients can be about treatment options.
Asbestos preventers include any public health professional or industry worker fighting to ban and eliminate asbestos. These people are so important in our ADAO community and they are leading the fight against this man-made disaster. Hearing professionals speak about their battles and how our community can help always adds an important and interesting view to our conference.
We are excited to bring together leading professionals, dedicated activists and courageous patients to unite for awareness and change. Thank you for your support and inviting others to join us. I look forward to personally welcome you in D.C. in April.
In unity,
Linda Reinstein
