How did this annual conference equip everyday people to have this kind of impact? By providing asbestos victims and their families open-door access to renowned experts from every field that pertains to asbestos. These leaders shared their knowledge, respect, and compassion for the trials innocent people are enduring, and became more like family as the conference progressed.
In addition to the medical and occupational professionals, victims and family members shared stories and experiences that were both enlightening and alarming. But the message was one of action and hope rather than despair. Attendees were encouraged to take action by joining ADAO in its initiatives or through individual efforts including social media, writing letters, or simply sharing information with friends and colleagues. The message of empowerment and each individual’s ability to make a difference shined through.
Thanks to the impact of this year’s ADAO conference, the effort to raise public awareness about the dangers of asbestos just became stronger. Let’s keep the momentum going and stay connected!
