ADAO’s Six-Word Quote Campaign asks one important question: What do you want Congress to know about asbestos?

For more than a decade, ADAO has invited mesothelioma patients, survivors, families, workers, advocates, and supporters to answer in six words or fewer. The idea is simple: personal voices can reach people in ways statistics alone cannot.

This Mesothelioma Awareness Month, we are bringing the campaign back with an easier way to participate. Tell Congress why asbestos prevention, accountability, and a national asbestos ban matter to you. Submit your six-word message and a photo, and ADAO will turn them into a shareable graphic for congressional outreach, advocacy, and social media.

Past campaigns have included powerful messages such as:

❤️ Mesothelioma will never define me!

❤️ Save Lives. Ban Asbestos Now.

❤️ Asbestos Kills Thousands Annually. BAN IT.

❤️ Asbestos took my dad away forever

How to Participate

This year, Chris Carberg and I are pleased to introduce a new direct-submission app. Write your quote and upload your photo in one place—no separate form required.

  1. Write your six-word message. What do you want Congress to know about asbestos, mesothelioma, prevention, or the need for a ban?
  2. Submit your quote and photo. Submit your six-word quote here.
  3. Share and amplify. When your graphic is ready, share it and encourage others to add their voices.

Six words can express a diagnosis, a loss, a warning, a hope, or a call for change. Together, these messages put names, faces, and voices behind the asbestos statistics Congress sees every day. Your story can make a difference in the mind of those who wield the legislative pen.

Raise your voice. Share your six words. Help us ban asbestos and #ENDMeso.

Prevention remains our most powerful tool.
