As the holidays approach, we at ADAO know that, for some, there will always be the unavoidable ache of sadness.  The holidays are a time for family and love, and it’s impossible to forget that some of those who we have loved the most are no longer with us.  But it’s also important to remember that the holidays are a time for thanks.

ADAO is lucky to have such tireless volunteers, partners, and supporters that enable the organization to continually augment its education, advocacy, and community support initiatives.  On a personal note, while I miss Alan tremendously, I am so thankful for my beautiful daughter, the never-ending support of a great network of friends, the ability to make a difference in other people’s lives, and the opportunities that life still has ahead of me.

In this emotion-filled holiday season, I encourage you to focus on what you have: all the gifts you have received, the people who you were fortunate to have touched your life, and all of the things you have been blessed to see, learn, and do.  Use the season as a reason to let those around you know you appreciate their love and support.  I know that we at ADAO appreciate yours.

On behalf of all of us at ADAO, may your Thanksgiving holiday be filled with happiness, joy, and peace.

In gratitude,

Linda
