Linda Reinstein, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) and Jordan Zevon Issue Statements on the Anniversary of the Passing of Warren Zevon:

“Today, on the anniversary of Warren’s passing, our thoughts and prayers are with his son, Jordan Zevon, and the entire Zevon family. We are grateful to have Jordan’s support and determination as we continue the fight to ban asbestos globally, especially now that new studies are revealing that asbestos patients are now younger than in previous reports. With a new median age of 51, it is clear that action needs to be taken to prevent environmental exposure in the future,” stated Linda Reinstein, Executive Director and Co-Founder of ADAO. “By remembering Warren’s passing, we turn a tragic event into an opportunity to educate Americans on the dangers and consequences of the deadly asbestos mineral.”

“One of the ways in which I celebrate my father’s life is by working with ADAO. In the beginning of my work with ADAO, I would shrug my shoulders and say: I want to help, but I really don’t know anything about this. I am grateful that time has amended that statement as my education continues on a daily basis,” stated Jordan Zevon, National Spokesman of ADAO. “I’ve learned so much through ADAO and although most of it is an ‘Inconvenient Truth’, there’s a heart-felt side and a band of warm families, friends, doctors and advocates that are making a difference. Everyone at ADAO continues to fight for awareness and a cure and continues to press on with dedication and love.”
