Get ready – it’s almost time for the 11th Annual Miles for Meso 5K Race and 3K Walk/Fun-Run! If you’re in Alton, Illinois on September 28, this race is the place to be. You can also join the race virtually: check here to see how!
ADAO has built a signature program as part of the Miles for Meso race to honor or remember Mesothelioma Warriors. For the past five years, over 250 racers have worn “Warrior tribute bibs,” each one bearing the name of a victim of asbestos-caused disease. These personalized bibs are one of the most powerful parts of the race each year, as they enable participants to dedicate their run, in honor or in memory, to a Warrior. If you would like a runner to wear your Warrior tribute bib for you or your loved one, click here. The deadline to submit a name is Friday, Sept. 6, 2019
“Miles for Meso” is a yearly highlight for the Mesothelioma Warrior community. It brings together about 1,000 people in a fun, healthy way, and even creates ways to connect digitally for those who can’t make it to the race in person.
Since 2014, the Alton Miles for Meso race has raised a stunning $155,000 for our organization. We are immensely grateful to everyone who has supported us so far; specifically Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP, who will be sponsoring this fabulous event for the 11th consecutive year.
All proceeds from the race will go directly to ADAO’s advocacy, community support programs, education efforts, and awareness campaigns. Your contributions are the life force behind our work and enable the largest asbestos victims’ advocacy group in the U.S. to continue pushing for change and public health protection!
Together we are making change happen.
