The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), a proven leader in preventing all asbestos-caused diseases, is officially accepting monetary sponsorships for the 2022 year. The deadline to join as an ADAO sponsor is May 31st, 2022. It is because of sponsor support that we were able to take many landmark steps forward in 2022, and we are already on track for a powerful 2022. We hope you will join us.

Asbestos kills over 40,000 Americans each year. The fact that asbestos, a known carcinogen, is still legal and lethal in the United States is a travesty, and our small team has worked tirelessly to earn a seat at the table with public health policy lawmakers to address this deadly issue. We actively participate in labor, public health, and environmental coalitions, and continue to act as a trusted resource for the media who report on asbestos-related news.

ADAO is an independent 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization founded in 2004 and based in Redondo Beach, CA. We exist to prevent consumer, environmental, and occupational asbestos exposure through education, advocacy, and community support initiatives.

Our community is made up of more than 50,000 people, including medical, scientific, labor, and occupational safety and health professionals, government agencies, NGOs, victims of asbestos-related diseases such as mesothelioma, and their families. We also continue to be a sought-after resource for the media as they report on asbestos-related news.

Thanks to our will power, determination, and collective minds, ADAO — with the help from other advocacy groups and the monetary support of our sponsors — won a series of landmark settlements against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Due to these settlements, the agency has been forced to revise its rulemaking and regulatory steps to be more comprehensive, more protective, and more wide-ranging when it comes to the threat of asbestos. We know that the new year will only bring more policy changes like this, but we need your help.

There are various levels of sponsorship to join at, and ADAO utilizes the most current, cost-effective means to communicate more information to more people. 2022 Sponsors can leverage ADAO’s social media and digital expertise for collaborative marketing efforts, on top of being able to cultivate relationships with ADAO’s circle of asbestos victims, experts, and concerned citizens. Sponsors benefit from official recognition before, during, and after our annual conference; we highlight our sponsors during our yearly “Global Asbestos Awareness Week,” which reaches hundreds of thousands of people; during our monthly newsletters; through our frequent community-building events; within our blogs; and within our social media messaging through 2022. These are just a few examples of ways we work to enhance our sponsors.

ADAO is working to make the world a safer and healthier place for us all. Our sponsors are the true heroes who make this work possible, especially during this trying time, and we are grateful for your consideration.

If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, contact Linda Reinstein, ADAO’s CEO/President. Below, you will find some of our core objectives, which we hope you will join us in accomplishing.

2022 Core Objectives:

  • Passing the annual National Asbestos Awareness Week Resolution (April 1-7)
  • Collaborating for Global Asbestos Awareness Week (GAAW) on April 1 – 7
  • Less Cancer’s National Cancer Prevention Workshop on February 2-4
  • Hosting our 17th Annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference (news coming soon.)
  • Hosting our annual Congressional Staff Briefing, which provides Congressional members with scientific data, personal stories, and the opinions of global experts so that they can act on asbestos policy
  • Working with EPA and FDA to improve regulations and address the issue of legacy asbestos found in millions of homes, schools, and workplaces
  • Maintaining our role as an expert resource for the media as they report on asbestos and asbestos-caused disease
  • Hosting numerous Zoom conversations with leading experts that educate the public about the dangers of asbestos — something that most Americans do not know is still an issue or danger in present day
  • Continue our art, advocacy, and educational programs, which not only reach a wide variety of people but help build community among asbestos victims and their families
  • Share the stories of asbestos victims and their loved ones. We are the only organization who has a database featuring hundreds of stories of people whose lives were devastated by this man-made disaster

We look forward to accomplishing our goals in 2022!

Together, we can make change possible.
