ADAO’s 20th Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference
Building on Dr. Selikoff’s Legacy in Asbestos Science, Prevention & Justice
September 12–13, 2025 | New York City
A Historic Milestone
Twenty years ago, ADAO began its mission to prevent asbestos-caused diseases through evidence-based advocacy. Now, we return to where it all started, New York City, where Dr. Irving Selikoff held his groundbreaking 1964 conference that first exposed asbestos dangers to the world. We have made critical advancements in policy and outreach since Dr. Selikoff’s time, but there’s so much more to do.
That’s why this isn’t just another conference. It’s a pivotal moment where past b
reakthroughs meet present urgency and future possibilities. We’re bringing together the global community that shares one unwavering goal: ending asbestos-related diseases.
The world’s leading experts, first responders, scientists, policymakers, and advocates will come together to discuss the dangers of asbestos and find practical solutions for public health and justice.

The newest strategies for faster diagnosis, better treatment, and holding the responsible parties accountable.
Regulatory Reform
Policy opportunities to strengthen protections despite current rollbacks—and how to seize them.
