DONATE TODAY

As the year comes to a close, we are filled with deep gratitude for your continued support. Every victory we’ve achieved in the fight to end asbestos exposure — every life protected, every story shared — has been made possible because of you.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) — the largest independent nonprofit in the U.S. dedicated solely to preventing asbestos exposure, eliminating asbestos-caused diseases, and supporting affected communities.

Every year, over 40,000 Americans lose their lives to preventable asbestos-caused diseases like mesothelioma, asbestosis, and lung cancer. These losses are unacceptable — and entirely preventable. With your help, we continue to transform grief into action and advocacy into change.

Your support fuels our mission to:

  • Host life-saving conferences and briefings: ADAO organizes the only annual International Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, connecting experts, survivors, and advocates to share science, stories, and solutions.
  • Inspire through art and action: From musician Jordan Zevon to filmmaker Judd Apatow and photographer Earl Dotter, our creative partners use their platforms to raise awareness and keep asbestos prevention in the public eye.
  • Educate policymakers: Our team of science, health, and environmental experts regularly briefs Congressional staffers, ensuring lawmakers understand the urgent need to ban asbestos once and for all.
  • Lead global awareness efforts: Every year, we spearhead Global Asbestos Awareness Week and secure National Asbestos Awareness Week recognition in Congress to reach millions with life-saving education.
  • Empower the public with trusted information: Our website and social platforms provide accurate, science-based answers to questions like “Is asbestos in my home?” and “What are my options after diagnosis?”. These serve as resources to educate, guide, and support individuals in making informed decisions about their health and safety.
  • Amplify survivor voices: Through our Shared Story Bank, we honor the courageous individuals and families who turn pain into purpose by sharing their experiences with asbestos-related disease.
  • Champion legislation: ADAO proudly advocates for the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act, a comprehensive bipartisan bill that would finally ban all forms of asbestos in the U.S.
  • Hold regulators accountable: When the EPA fails to protect public health, ADAO takes action — even in court — to ensure no one is left unprotected.

Every donation, no matter the size, fuels these vital programs and moves us closer to a future where asbestos exposure is history — not a hazard.

This Giving Tuesday, December 2, join us in saving lives.
Your generosity keeps our mission alive — empowering advocacy, driving education, and honoring every family forever changed by asbestos.
