We have been touched by asbestos in individual ways, yet we are joined together by a bond of community. As a testament to the strength of our global family, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is highlighting the courageous stories of our members with the “Share Your Story” feature on our website.’

This week, we would like to honor the story of Andrew, as shared by his daughter, Andrea.

It took my dad – Andrew’s Story

Name: Andrew

Location: Florida

Diagnosis: Mesothelioma

Date of Diagnosis: 10-AUG-2010

Treatment: Radiation for stage 4 at diagnosis and comfort

1939 – 2011

How has asbestos changed your life? (Unedited):It took my dad ! My dad was a hard working master electrician, father , friend and to watch what this did to him was horrific! He had a healthy physical in Sept 1010 and diagnosed that Oct with stage 4. I took care of my dad and he left us Feb 6 2011. My life has been empty. I’m a lost soul. He has missed so much in his family that he should have been here ro live and be a part of. I miss him so very much.
