ADAO Introduces the New Asbestos Action Navigator Tool: Prevention, Exposure Tracking, and Care Management at Your Fingertips
Posted on September 26, 2025
Why ADAO Built the Navigator
For more than 20 years, ADAO has listened to patients, families, and advocates who consistently ask:
- How can I protect myself and my loved ones from asbestos?
- How do I record possible exposures for my medical records?
- What resources are available if I, or someone I care for, is diagnosed?
The Navigator was created to answer these questions in one accessible, user-friendly hub. It reflects ADAO’s mission to prevent exposure, support communities, and ensure people have the tools needed to make informed decisions.
What the Navigator Offers
The Navigator organizes support into three clear pathways:
- Prevention: Build a personalized safety plan to avoid disturbing asbestos in homes, schools, or workplaces. This pathway guides users through risk identification and practical steps to reduce exposure.
- Exposure Tracking: Create a private exposure log for your records. Documenting potential asbestos contact can be valuable for long-term health monitoring and medical consultations.
- Care Navigation: Build and manage your holistic team. This section provides guidance on treatment planning, organizing medical records, and connecting with trusted networks to manage the care journey with confidence.
Each pathway is paired with a downloadable PDF guide for easy reference.
How Users Benefit
The Asbestos Action Navigator turns complex information into actionable steps:
- For homeowners and workers: It offers prevention planning to keep families and communities safe.
- For individuals with possible exposure: It provides a secure place to record history that may later support medical care.
- For patients and caregivers: It offers practical tools to coordinate a care team, stay informed about treatment options, and access resources that support both medical and personal needs.
By combining prevention, exposure tracking, and care navigation, the Navigator helps users move from uncertainty to clarity.
Special thanks to my dear friend, Chris Carberg, for collaborating on the design, creation, and implementation of this important new ADAO Asbestos Action Navigator tool.
