The Asbestos Awareness Disease Organization (ADAO) is honored to again be attending the 15th Meeting of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig 2020) on March 25-28 in Brisbane, Australia.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to join over 500 delegates from around the world, and discuss up-to-date research, diverse topics of interest, and educational sessions with leading experts. ADAO is a proud supporter of iMig and has been attending, presenting, and exhibiting at iMig conferences for over a decade. Our two organizations share a common goal: understand, cure and prevent mesothelioma.

Every two years, the iMig conference, the largest international gathering of clinicians and scientists in the field of mesothelioma, brings together experts dedicated to treating and curing mesothelioma. The conference features groundbreaking workshops, presentations and discussions, while focusing on strengthening collaborative efforts between groups around the world. ADAO has previously attended and presented at eight different iMig conferences including in Chicago, Amsterdam, Kyoto, Boston, United Kingdom, South Africa and Canada.

Two years ago, ADAO presented fourteen years of experience in the session “Mesothelioma Advocacy in the 21st Century,” in which we discussed data from two ADAO patient and physician advocacy surveys and storytelling.

This year, ADAO looks forward to hosting a booth focused on prevention and policy efforts. We also look forward to presenting Barry Robson of Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia (ADFA) with the 2020 Alan Reinstein Award for his commitment to education, advocacy, and providing support to countless patients and families.

Conferences like this are incredibly important, as they allow activists and change makers from around the world to gather together and focus on how to continue the fight in the months and years to come. ADAO is honored to be included and looks forward to connecting with our colleagues at the iMig conference. We are excited to continue the discussions we start at iMig’s conference at ADAO’s annual conference the following weekend, April 3-5 in Washington, D.C.

Join the iMig from any country in the world by using #iMig2020 and following us at @iMig_Meso and @linda_ADAO.  Check out Dr. Anna Nowak’s video invitation below.

Together, we are making change possible.
