ADAO is pleased to highlight the incredible work of its friends at the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (Meso Foundation) by sharing information about their annual National Mesothelioma Awareness Day to be held on September 26. Every year, Meso Foundation volunteers ensure that mesothelioma is recognized through a coordinated campaign that includes organizing fundraising and awareness events, requesting awareness proclamations in their cities and states, contacting local media establishments to have their story covered, and letting everyone in their networks know (virtually and by word-of-mouth) about it. This year, the organization will again be raising awareness of mesothelioma by participating in the audience of the Today Show on September 26 in Rockefeller Center, NY. Started in 2004 by a group of Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation volunteers and officially recognized and passed by Congress in 2010, this day is dedicated to bringing the asbestos-related disease of mesothelioma to the forefront of national attention.
