On July 29th at 3 PM EDT, ADAO will be joining the American Public Health Association Occupational Health and Safety Section to discuss the policy-making process and policy implementation to advance occupational health, equity, and well-being for all workers.

Join us on July 29th as we discuss how ADAO has worked to write, pass, and use APHA’s Elimination of Asbestos policy statements (2009 & 2019) to prevent injuries and illnesses in the workplace. All members and non-members are welcome to participate in a conversation to explore the relevance, use and feasibility of an APHA policy on decent work-perceptions, gaps, and opportunities for a future agenda.

I’m looking forward to participating in Session 3: Implementing APHA Occupational Health & Safety Section Policies, with Mary Miller, MN, RN; Donald Hoppert, APHA, Director of Government Relations; and Amy Hagopian, PhD, University of Washington School of Public Health.

ADAO has proudly been an APHA member for over 10 years and learned from the APHA experts how important the policy statements are in protecting public health and shaping public policy for asbestos and other issues.

Registration is $50 and student registration is $20. Opportunities to participate are available for those unable to pay. Please contact ce@uw.edu to request more info.
