ADAO is pleased to share that ADAO’s Ninth Virtual Zoom Event on Wednesday, March 24 —  featuring Barry Castleman, ScD; Arthur Frank, MD, PhD; Richard Lemen, PhD, MSPH; and Bob Sussman, JD — was an international success! Thanks to our dedicated experts, ADAO’s prevention and policy efforts continue to make landmark steps forward.

Attendees from around the world, including India, France, and Canada listened live to the panel, who discussed the history of asbestos and corporate crimes; impact of asbestos exposure including high risk occupations and early warning symptoms; the ongoing health threat from legacy asbestos; legislation and agency failures, and ADAO’s legal and legislative actions and outcomes. During the conversation, several participants shared their personal stories about how asbestos and asbestos-caused diseases have affected them and their families.

These experts believe the only way we can prevent asbestos is through a ban. We look to Congress to make the 2021 Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act a priority to protect Americans from preventable and deadly diseases.. We ended the meeting with our experts’ messages to Congress.

Make sure to sign up for our monthly eNewsletters for more information on upcoming Zoom conversations, and exciting updates about our 2021 Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, which will be virtually held on September 18th.

Together, we can make a change.
