Individualized Legacy Donation Pages

As we reflect on ADAO’s work and advocacy this year, we are excited share a tool on our website that links us together as a community: Individualized Legacy Donation Pages. Community members can use this tool on our website to honor those who have passed on and support prevention and advocacy efforts. This month is our Mesothelioma Candle Lighting Tradition, and we want to continue and improve the support and recognition we provide for those who are currently or have experienced the effects of asbestos-caused illnesses.

How It Works

When filling out the Share Your Story Form, there is now a question/section which says “I would like a Legacy Donation Page built in honor of the person’s story listed above.” By checking the box, you confirm that you would like to have a Legacy Donation Page built out on behalf of you or a loved one who has been impacted by asbestos. People from anywhere can donate to life-saving asbestos education, prevention, and legislation efforts on behalf of the loved one on this page.

Donations

All donations will go toward ADAO’s education, prevention, advocacy, and community-building efforts. There is no minimum or maximum donation amount. Any and all contributions are welcome. We take our responsibility to you and our community seriously and will do all we can to further this important work and honor those we love and have lost. ADAO continues to work on our dual track strategy, both legislative and legal, to ban asbestos, as well as expanding our education, advocacy, and community building efforts to prevent asbestos exposure to eliminate all asbestos-caused diseases. Being fiscally sound, we only spent approximately 9% of funds on operating expenses. The rest of our funds go directly toward education, prevention, and advocacy initiatives. Our accomplishments are significant, proving collective activism is powerful and productive.

We believe updating this form will make navigating the Legacy Donation Pages much easier for those submitting their stories and faster for the ADAO team to build out the pages. We look forward to enhancing this tool and building greater support as an online community. If you have any questions or would like to build a page for someone whose story has already been submitted, please send us an email at info@adao.us.
