Donate to the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization

As we reflect on 2022 coming to a close, we can’t help but look back at how far we’ve come. Over the past nearly eighteen years, we have accomplished so much when it comes to asbestos education, advocacy, and community support. Time and time again, no matter the adversary before us, we’ve stood up, shared our stories, advocated for change — and we’re making a difference!

To better represent the important work Team ADAO has accomplished over the years, we’d like to share our new 2022 Impact Graphic, which showcases our progress and strengths in powerfully simple words and numbers. I’m happy to be sharing our facts and stats because I am proud of what we’ve done — and you should be too. We are who we are because of YOU. Our powerful and diverse community consists of asbestos victims and their families, scientists, trade unions, policymakers, public health advocates, donors, and sponsors, and more; all of whom have and continue to generously give time and dollars to fund ADAO’s education, advocacy, legislative, and community support efforts. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Over the past year, we accomplished landmark achievements, especially on the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act, and we already have plans to start off strong in the new year. If we continue to focus our collective energy on getting this lifesaving bill passed, our 2023 graphic could have an important new highlight: an exemption-free, federal ban on asbestos. Meanwhile, our dual track strategy of focusing on both legal and legislative movement when it comes to banning asbestos is progressing, and we know that having a two-prong fight will help protect each and every American from the known carcinogen.

As you probably know, ADAO is an independent nonprofit, and we rely entirely on the generous donations from our supporters. This graphic shows just how far your dollars have gone and gives you a sense of where we’re headed. We’ve included a quick and secure donation form here if you’d like to take this opportunity to support our efforts and contribute to the ban asbestos movement.

Together, we are making change happen now. We encourage each of you to stand with us through the global asbestos struggle, share your story, and donate your time and dollars as you can to help end the deadly legacy of asbestos.

Special thanks to Jess Mattmuller who created this amazing graphic template to showcase ADAO achievements each year.

In unity,

Linda Reinstein
